I know I haven’t posted a comment for a page in a while (aside from the VDSD back in February). But I just wanted to make something clear: This character is not who he/they seem to be. Yes, it should be obvious they are designed to look as though they are from India. Who they are is yet to be revealed, so please keep an open mind, because there are things I can’t reveal this early in the Crystal Lotus Chronicles.

The key is the last line on this page: They are going to journey West, and there will be other characters they meet in India who are not insidious. Right now, we’re just setting up things to come. So keep this character in the back of your mind, but don’t assume “evil” based on his appearance.

If you aren’t familiar with any Hindu scripture, a fun place to enjoy some ’90s anime and get a Cliff Notes version of the Ramayana (one of many texts…there’s also the Vedas–Rig Veda, the Bhagavad Gita, an epic poem which is part of the Mahabharata…and just so much that you can and should learn about if you’re interested in Asian Cultures and histories. Admittedly, it’s been years since I’ve read any of the Vedas or the Bhagavad Gita…I really need to revisit them. But then again, there’s many other religious texts I need to read/finish. Le sigh. Too much to read, too little time).
